Committed Minnesota Employment Law Lawyer

John A. Klassen, PA, was founded in 1996 to focus on protecting the rights of Minnesota employees. We are determined advocates for clients who suffered harassment, discrimination, retaliation or civil rights violations in Minneapolis, St. Paul, and other Minnesota cities. We also represent whistleblowers throughout Minnesota.

The purpose of my law firm is to advocate on behalf of and protect employees who have been victimized by their employers.

Attorney John Klassen

Our employment law and civil rights firm has successfully handled cases of discrimination, harassment, and civil rights violations in the workplace for more than a decade. We are equipped with the experience, dedication and skills necessary to pursue your claims and provide legal counsel for employees and victims of civil rights violations, including:

  • Whistleblower|False Claims Act|Qui Tam: Reporting your employer's illegal acts is protected conduct under whistleblower laws. If you know of fraud committed against the government, we can help you file a claim and win part of any funds recovered. We are experienced in representing Qui Tam relators, including Medicare and Medicaid fraud cases.
  • Sexual Harassment & Discrimination: If you experience sexual harassment or unwanted, inappropriate physical touching, or exposure to pornography or other sexual misconduct at work, our firm can help you make it stop, or pursue a claim against your harasser and employer.
  • Sexual Orientation Harassment & Discrimination: While there isn't yet a federal law that prohibits sexual orientation discrimination, Minnesota law protects you from this unlawful conduct, and we advocate for the protection of GLBT employees' civil rights in the workplace. We represent clients in "cutting edge" legal issues involving GLBT rights in the workplace.
  • Age Discrimination: Workers who are 40 years of age and older are susceptible to age-ist conduct and age discrimination on the job, which is a violation of federal law. We can help you protect your rights.
  • Race, Color & National Origin Harassment & Discrimination: If you have been harassed or discriminated against because of the color of your skin, your ethnicity, or where you were born, the employer has broken the law. We can help if your employer violated state or federal law and discriminated based on race, national origin, religion or color.
  • Retaliation: If you experienced workplace retaliation after opposing or reporting discrimination or harassment, we may be able to help you get compensation. We will help you protect your rights.
  • Severance Package Negotiations: We can help you evaluate a severance package and negotiate better terms if it is unreasonable or unfair.
  • Non-Competition Agreements: Our firm represents employees whose former employer claimed they violated their noncompete agreement. We also help employees evaluate non-competition agreements before signing.
  • Civil Rights: We advocate for vulnerable adults and children whose civil rights were violated when they were abused in public and private institutions, including healthcare facilities and schools.
